In this Issue:

"History of the CCCF"  Beachbum AKA Gary, one of the original founders of the CCCF, has put together a humorous but factual account of the founding of the CCCF for those members who weren't around at the beginning...around 1500 of you!

"West Galveston Bay Winter Tactics" by Fishfinder AKA Tim.  We all know that Fishfinder catches quality fish just about every time out.  In this article, he shares some of the secrets that have enabled him to win tournaments and put trout and reds on the table consistently.  While the article is about West Bay, the tactics can work anywhere.

"So You Wannabe a Captain"   by Captain Roy Weeks.  Having a Captain's license is fast becoming a requirement to be a guide, and learning the rules of the road are always good.  Learn the ropes from CCCF's own Capt. Roy, who also runs a marine training school.

"Check Your Equipment !"  by Zero AKA Bill.  This one could have been about the one that got away.  Ever had that line go limp on a trophy trout?   Well, Zero has, and he's written about all the little things that we take for granted.

Don't forget to talk to your contacts about sponsorship of the CCCF web site and/or this newsletter.  What better way to get your message out to 1500+ avid sportsmen...and at rock-bottom cost!

"The Catch of the Month"   This month's catch goes to Big Mullet with a nice stringer of slot reds!

"What's In a Flag?   By Hutch00 AKA Archie.  Our CCCF'r New Jerseyite goes back to the basics to let us know about bait camp flags and their meanings.  Save yourself valuable fishing time by learning to read those flags.

Be sure and visit our sponsors and buy their products...David's Tackle Box, Honey Holes for  the Walkin Wader and Kayaker, and Chris Martin's Bay Flats Guide Service and Lodge.

Regular Features:

"Here's How I See It"  by Editor/Publisher Webdude AKA Sam.  A monthly commentary on the state of the CCCF and other general matters. This month it's about the ongoing fights, up and down the Texas coast, about beach access issues.

"The one that got away...and other fish stories"  by various authors.  This month's offering is a  true story by Plasticaster AKA Terry..  This one is a vivid account of an incident on a guided trip with fellow CCCF'r JoCur.  Plasticaster makes West Matagorda come alive.  (Note - the trip mentioned here was donated by David's Tackle Box and Tommy's Guide Services.)

"Recipe from Borg's Kitchen"   by Borg AKA Jeff.   The CCCF is lucky to have a gourmet cook among its members, and we are even luckier that he passes on some of his knowledge to us!   This month the recipe is for "Stir Fry Shrimp and Asparagus with Thai Flavor".   Mmmmm, good!
